Dental insurance for braces, What are braces like

Friday, Oct. 29th 2010 8:47 AM

Hello,  I am 25 and have been thinking about getting braces for some time now.  A few of my teeth are crooked and I have a gap towards the back.  Other then the placement of my teeth I have healthy teeth and gums.

I wondering a few things. First is it too late to get dental insurance for braces or will dental insurance only cover kids to have braces? Also what is the process for getting braces put on?  Does it hurt having braces put on?

If I get insurance do I get to see an orothodontic dental office right away?  Or am I left having long term waiting periods?  Any advise would be helpful thanks.

Dental care, when to get a second dental opinion

Tuesday, Oct. 26th 2010 9:28 AM

I have not been to the dentist in about three years because I did not have dental insurance.  But since I just got a dental insurance plan that gave me free preventive care I went to see a dentist just the other day.

Where I was told that I have four cavities.  I am not sure about this though.  My teeth do not hurt me and I only went in for a free cleaning and X-rays.   Should I just keep my dental appointment to have the filling done or should I be getting a second dental opinion.

Full dental coverages for dental cleaning and X-rays

Sunday, Oct. 24th 2010 9:01 AM

All I really need is to be able to see the dentist twice a year for my dental cleanings and X-rays.  I like to get a low cost dental insurance plan that will offer full coverages for that type of dental care.   I never had a cavity so far so I do not see that being an issue down the road either.   I live in Texas if that is helpful to you.

Dental teeth health care, is it better to brush before or after breakfast

Wednesday, Oct. 20th 2010 6:28 PM

I am just wondering when you really should be brushing your teeth.  I know people say twice a day once in the morning and once at night.  But is it before breakfast or after.  I am right now brushing before breakfast because I really do not like the taste of toothpaste so I eat to help get rid of the taste but is that bad?  Should I be doing it after breakfast

Dental health, Painful tooth after filling

Wednesday, Oct. 20th 2010 8:48 AM

Two days ago I had a cavity filled.  Ever since that time that same tooth really hurts when I chew foods on that side of my mouth.  Funny thing is before the filling the cavity never really hurt me.

So the pain is worse then have a cavity.  So yes I will be going back to the dentist my appointment is in anther day but I would like some idea as to why I should be having this pain.   Is it normal  and if so how long will it take to go away?

Dental insurance online picking a good PPO plan

Tuesday, Oct. 19th 2010 9:33 AM

I live in TN and looking for a good PPO dental plan so that I can stay with my own current dentist.  I do not want to change dental offices and my dentist does not take discount plans so those are not a choice for me.  I have never bought insurance on line before and I want to make sure the plans I see on line are real

How do I make sure I am buying a PPO dental insurance plan and  not one of those dental discount plans my dentist told me to stay away from.

Dental coverages and dental claims question

Monday, Oct. 18th 2010 9:46 AM

When getting dental insurance how are the claims filed?  I do not have a dentist yet but I am looking for a dental  insurance where I only have to pay my part of the cost at the time of services.

My fried has good dental insuance and it pays out well problem is she has to pay in full for the dental services and wait back for her money from the insurance company.  It works okay for her since she can afford to do that.  I however can not afford to pay up front so need a plan that will not make me do that.
