Ohio Dental Insurance plans for braces

Monday, Feb. 24th 2014 8:19 AM

I would like to get my daughter braces for her crooked teeth.  She has taken such good care of her teeth and has never had any cavities.  I would like her to have perfect teeth now that she is a teen things like this is more important to her.

I looked into my current plan but was told they do not offer coverages for braces. I was checking into the cost of having braces to my surprise cost of invisalign are not much more then standard metal braces.  Yet other dental insurance plans I called will not cover for invisaligns. Are there any dental insurance plans that can help me here with the cost of my daughter getting invisalign?

Answer: If you are having a problem finding dental insurance that will offer benefits towards the cost of invisaligns you may want to review getting a dental discount plan. With most dental discount plans you can get a discounted saving off the cost of invisalings around 15 to 20 percent. This web site offers dental insurance as well as dental discount plans

Dental Insurance Plus, why you should think ahead when getting dental insurance

Saturday, Feb. 22nd 2014 7:56 AM

It may seem surprising that many people do not have dental insurance.  Dental insurance benefits are not always offer though work so people do without until a major dental need arises.   The problem with waiting until you need dental insurance is that by then it can be to late to get the type of dental insurance  you want.  People find out too late in order to stay with their dentist they may need to get a dental PPO plan.  However most dental PPO plans have long term waiting periods, so when not bought early on you may not get the coverages you are looking for.

One thing I suggest is if you have a dentist that you do not wish to change find out what types of dental plans you would need  in order to stay with their dental office.  If you are with a dental office that only accepts PPO dental plans then you may want to think about getting a dental PPO plan now so you have a plan in place for your future dental needs whether it for preventive dental care or major dental care.

New York DentalSave Discount Dental Plan

Thursday, Feb. 20th 2014 10:54 AM

I am  currently living in New York and I have been reviewing many different dental discount plans that seem to be all over the place.  Your site looks good and does offer very good information about dental care. I am leaning towards your DentalSave Discount Dental Plan.  I like that it is low cost and seems to be better then a few other discount plans I review.   I never bought anything online and have to admit I am a little leery about doing so.  Is there anything I should know before buying a dental discount plan?

Answer: When buying a dental discount plan you have to go to dentist that are plan providers.  Make sure you have a dentist in the plan that you want to go to. Call the dental office up and confirm that they are still accepting the plan in question.  You may also want to ask a few questions that are important to you so you can feel good about the dental discount plan you are buying

Dental Insurance Plus, Is Dental insurance is needed for new born baby?

Monday, Feb. 10th 2014 8:26 AM

Question:  I failed to enroll my baby to my current dental insurance plan I received though my employer. The next open enrollment to add her is not until January 2014. By then she will be a little over a year old. Should I wait it out or buy a dental insurance plan just for her?

Answer:  The American Dental Association advises that a child should see a dentist by their first birth day or when they cut their first tooth.  With that said, it can be difficult to find a dental insurance plan for just a minor. Most dental insurance plan will not write and individual dental insurance plan on a minor.  This means you would need to buy a couple plan.  Whether or not you decide you should buy a plan for three to four months is up to you. However keep in mind many insurance plan also have waiting periods or required that you keep the plan for at least a year.

Dental Insurance Plus, Dental Sealants

Sunday, Feb. 2nd 2014 10:52 AM

Sealants are protective coatings placed over the tops of the back teeth (molars). They block bacteria and acids from sticking in the tiny grooves on the chewing surfaces of these teeth. Sealants can be placed in adults and children. Children can have sealants placed on their permanent molars once they come in, around age six. Sometimes they are also used on primary (baby) molars. Dentists can put sealants on molars with signs of early decay, as long as the decay hasn’t broken through the enamel.

Dental Insurance Plus, Fluoride

Tuesday, Jan. 28th 2014 10:14 AM

Fluoride penetrates into teeth. Fluoride helps to strengthens teeth by replacing minerals that acid has removed.

The benefits of fluoride to teeth were first discovered in the 1930s. Dentists started to notice that people who drank water that naturally contained fluoride had less tooth decay. In 1945, communities started to add fluoride to water supplies. Adding fluoride to water systems has been the most successful cavity prevention method to date.

In the early 1960s, fluoride also began to be added to toothpaste. This also had a major impact on cavity prevention. Now almost all toothpastes contain fluoride. Everyone should brush with a fluoride toothpaste every day.

Having Dental Insurance Will Make The Cost of Treating an Abscessed Tooth More Affordable

Saturday, Jan. 18th 2014 8:43 AM

The goal of treating an abscessed tooth is to cure the infection, save the tooth and prevent any complications.  In order to achieve this goal the dentist will normally prescribe antibiotics in order to fight the infection. During this time what can also help is rinsing your mouth out with warm salt water, and using over the counter pain relievers to help relive any tooth pain you are having as well as reduce fever.

After the infection is cured the dentist may advise a root canal in order to save the tooth. After the root canal is done you may also need to have a crown in order to protect the tooth.   By having dental insurance in force you are able to have root canal and crowns done at a more affordable cost.  Some dental insurance plans have waiting periods (time period you need to have had the plan before major dental services are covered) therefore having dental insurance prior to any major dental care is needed is best advised.
